1. By the end of the session, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the potential causes of shortness of breath, its pathophysiology, and its effect on overall patient health. 2. Participants will learn how to conduct a thorough and efficient patient examination for someone presenting with shortness of breath, using appropriate OSCE procedures and communication skills. 3. Through role-play and simulation sessions, participants will be able to demonstrate effective and empathetic patient communication, discussing symptoms and medical conditions in a manner that is understandable and sensitive to the patient's fears and concerns. 4. Participants will learn how to apply the knowledge of shortness of breath in formulating an effective differential diagnosis, including the appropriate tests and investigations to confirm the diagnosis. 5. Attendees will receive feedback on their performance in simulated OSCE stations, enabling them to identify areas of improvement, particularly focusing on their practical skills, clinical reasoning and patient communication techniques.
