This event is run by Anooj Ghadge and Thomas Deane both Medical students at University College Dublin and part of the national MedEd Hubs collaborative. A national project with the goal of revolutionising Medical Education and increasing the accessibility of medical education to students of many different medical schools, regardless of their geographic location.
Donal Buggy is UCD Full Professor of Anaesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine and Consultant in Anaesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine in Mater Misericordiae University Hospital since 2001. He took up the part-time post of UCD Full Professor of Anaesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine in November 2012, having been appointed Professor on the Adjunct Clinical Faculty since 2008. As of autumn 2021, he has a 28 year history of active publication in peer reviewed international literature. The overarching coherence of his research work is the evaluation of how anaesthetic technique and perioperative interventions may influence early, intermediate and longer-term patient-centric postoperative outcomes. His unit is at the forefront of worldwide research on how perioperative factors such as anaesthesia and analgesia for cancer surgery might influence cancer recurrence and metastasis.
