Description

Arron is a GP trainee based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, a Clinical Tutor at Kings College London and former Deputy Lead of Emerging Technology at the Department of Health and Social Care. In addition he is a Digital Health London Fellow and an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur.

By combining his experience in med-tech innovation, computer programming and medical education, Arron is committed to delivering novel solutions for clinical training to create a digitally literate NHS workforce.

Using this skillset, he created SimEPR, an educational electronic patient record system for simulation training. With commercial interest from institutions, along with data unequivocally supporting the benefit of SimEPR in clinical training, his next aim is to integrate the system into routine simulation training for healthcare staff throughout the UK.

Reflecting on his experiences has highlighted the enormous potential healthcare professionals have to transform patient care through technology. Therefore, in February 2021, he co-found Code Med, a startup which teaches healthcare professionals how to code. The Code Med team have since trained dozens of doctors and medical students across the UK how to build digital solutions addressing everyday healthcare barriers. The next course cohort starts on 30th September 2021, with applications still open: https://codemed.co.uk/course/

Arron also has an academic interest and his published research focuses on evaluating a broad range of novel medical technologies and digital health products.
