This teaching program is designed for year 3 and above medical students to enhance their understanding of surgical emergencies. The program will feature case-based discussions and exam-style questions, focusing on differentiating between similar conditions and regional anatomy.

This session focuses on Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We will be covering:

  • ectopic pregnancy
  • miscarriage and retained products of conception
  • ⁠ovarian cancer
  • ⁠cesarean section

The teaching program will be led by current foundation trainees at Royal Preston Hospital who have studied at Manchester, UClan, and Aberdeen universities. These trainees are passionate about surgery and are preparing for core surgical training. This week is lead by Tom, who studied at Manchester medical school, and is currently working on critical care. Tom is interested in surgery and medical education and is applying for core surgical training this year
