Our On-call Survival Courses for Junior Doctors have received excellent feedback in previous years, and we are excited to run them again virtually. The course curriculum for the On-Call Survival Course Series for Junior Doctors has been developed and will be delivered by experienced Surgical Registrars.

Learning objectives

1. To deepen understanding and theoretical knowledge of common urological conditions and presentations that Junior Doctors encounter during on-call shifts. 2. To enhance practical skills and confidence in managing pre- and post-op surgical patients in a urology context, particularly when immediate support from the senior staff is not readily available. 3. To develop the ability to identify, triage, and initiate appropriate initial management for urological emergencies that commonly present during on-call shifts. 4. To improve decision-making skills and judgement regarding when to escalate care, consult a Urologist, or send a patient for an emergency surgical intervention. 5. To familiarize junior doctors with the latest guidelines and best practices in the management of common urological cases that they might work with while on an on-call shift.
