Description

Background

A tutorial series of 6 sessions covering high-yield topics in orthopaedics will be delivered online, aimed at 4 th and 5th year medical students.

Aim

The aims of this teaching are to help students prepare for their upcoming exams and cover areas of the orthopaedic curriculum in more detail than tutorial sessions, in line with teaching outcomes from multiple blocks. Content The undergraduate orthopaedics curriculum has 6 domains, all 6 of which we plan to cover over the tutorial series. The 6 domains are listed below, along with the topics to be covered in each domain.

Upper Limb Part 1 - Distal Radius fracture - Scaphoid fracture - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - Supracondylar fracture of humerus - Proximal fracture of humerus - Clavicle Fracture

Upper Limb Part 2 - Shoulder dislocation - Recurrent shoulder instability - Adhesive capsulitis - Rotator cuff tear - Bicep tendon rupture

Paediatrics - Developmental dysplasia of the hip - Slipped capital femoral epiphysis - Perthe’s disease - Transient synovitis - Paediatric fractures - Non-accidental injury in children - Bone Tumours
