At UCT Global Surgery, our mission is to improve the quality of surgical care in Africa through education, research, implementation and advocacy. We have a special emphasis on underserved populations and populations in crisis, and on improving equity and social justice in healthcare systems.This symposium serves as a paramount platform for leading minds in the field, converging to deliberate on pivotal topics encompassing advances in surgery, cutting-edge research and education, surgical advocacy, anaesthesia and simulation, as well as the unique perspectives of South African surgeons.
