BBASS explores the anatomy of the needle and the pick up. Do you look at this each and every time you are about to make a stitch? Why is this important? How can you practice? BBASS highlights an element of stitching that is tacit to most surgeons but never made explicit. Join BBASS as we continue to 'home' surgical skills.
The angle

Summary
This educational session will explore the simple yet unexplained anatomy and geometry of the needle. This is tacit to most expert surgeons but rarely explained. BBASS will highlight the importance of 'the angle' and how it relates to your posture when operating. The expert surgeon lets the needle do the work for them rather than trying to manipulate the needle through mathematically impossible angles. This results in contortion of the body, fatigue and musculoskeletal degeneration. Do you want to know how to 'home' your surgical skills?
