Aim(s): To present the principles and practice of root canal treatment for general dentists.
Objectives: At the end of the session delegates should be able to: Outline the biological basis and indications for root canal treatment. Outline the importance of access cavity design. There will be hands-on experience in the NIMDTA Dental Simulation Suite using Simodont Dental Trainers. Appreciate the benefits of magnification devices. There will be hands-on experience using Q-Optics dental loupes supplied by SwordFish Medical. Indicate how to safely and effectively shape, clean and fill root canals. There will be hands-on experience using new X-Smart Pro+ Endo Motor, ProTaper Ultimate files, and WaveOne Gold files supplied by Dentsply Sirona. Identify when to treat, not treat, and refer.
Learning Content: This lecture and hands-on course is intended to promote safe and effective shaping, cleaning and filling of root canals within general dental practice.
