Summary

Session lead: Chris Waters, Core Surgical Trainee, Vascular Surgery NBT This upcoming session, Surgical on-calls: Post-Operative Complications and Common Vascular/Orthopaedic Presentations on-call explores potential post-operative complications across common specialties, and provides specialized teaching about common on-call presentations and management for medical professionals. Attendees will receive an understanding of non-accidental and spontaneous causes of, and management for, common postoperative complications. They will also learn how to appropriately manage their time and resources while on-call. Communicate effectively in relaying pertinent clinical information to doctors in charge 4. Consider local protocols and patient factors when formulating acute management plans 5. Distinguish the difference in management strategies for on-call vs routine outpatient care and liaise with other members of healthcare team to ensure appropriate delivery of care.
