In this one hour session we will cover:

Basic biliary anatomy and physiology Biliary pathology, and their investigations and management Common UGI procedures and post-op complications

Learning objectives

  1. Review RUQ anatomy and physiology of the biliary system
  2. Understand how to recognise and assess common RUQ pathologies seen in the emergency setting.
  3. Identify risk factors and indicative signs of common acquired and congenital conditions associated with RUQ.
  4. Grasp the therapeutic implications of each differential diagnosis.
  5. Learn how to triage patients with RUQ pathology for urgent or elective surgery.
