Summary

Our goal is to foster individual consultation styles and increase confidence in future doctors’ and healthcare professionals approach to scans. The motivation behind this project is a lack of consistency and attention paid to the importance that scans and scan results carry for most patients in real time medical practice. We want to create a useful toolkit for people to serve as a foundation for their discussions with their patients. This is in no way prescriptive and we want to emphasise in our teaching that our overall goal is to create more mindful consultations about imaging results. We are sure that this would influence other aspects of peoples’ consultation styles, including discussing other investigations.
