Summary

Tutorial 6/6

This final online session will address the complexity of relative energy deficiency syndrome (RED-S). This will include a discussion of the nutrients required for bone health, during which a critical analysis of a scientific study will be covered. Then, low energy availability (LEA), and how this, along with other risk factors can cause RED-S will be covered.

Slides & certificates will be sent out after each tutorial!

Learning objectives

  1. To understand how low energy availability (LEA) can negatively affect bone health

  2. To recognise that LEA is a risk factor for relative energy deficiency syndrome (RED-S)

  3. To be able to list other risk factors for RED-S

  4. To be able to critically analyse a scientific paper
