The South-West Healthcare Networking Event will be held in Cardiff University Student's Union with the aim of equipping African Caribbean students on the myriad of CV boosting pathways they can undertake.
We believe that this event will motivate students, regardless of healthcare background, to actively seek ways of developing themselves as future professionals. We ran a similar event last year with great success, and we hope to build on that this year.
Our vision is a day where students attend 3x 45 minute workshops of their choice with dedicated time for networking. These workshops will focus on a specific skill. Full lunch of African and Caribbean cuisine will be provided.
Workshops to choose from:
- How to be an effective leader - Dr Olujide
- The essential components of any CV - Dr Chandler
- How to be an asset to any team you’re in (in the healthcare setting and beyond) - Dr Kamau
- Event planning & Organisation - Kendra-Jean Nwamadi
- Public Speaking - Dr Patel
- The essentials of networking both online and in person - Adanna Anomneze-Collins
- How to improve your communication skills (in the healthcare setting and beyond) - Dr Joshi
- Quizlet: Study skills - Vera Onongaya
You will be sent an email to select the workshops you would like to attend.
Please note: all tickets are non-refundable as some proceeds will be going to the Sickle Cell Society
