1. Understand the anatomy of the knee and its relevant landmarks to correctly locate and aspirate a knee joint. 2. Recognise contraindications and common pitfalls associated with performing a knee aspiration. 3. Develop familiarity in handling and using a syringe, needle and syringe holder for aspirating a knee joint. 4. Describe the recommended procedures for knee aspiration and assess a variety of approaches for performing the procedure. 5. Evaluate the ability to correctly perform a diagnostic knee aspiration procedure following the SIM teaching.
