Dr John Stevens is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Psychotherapist with more than 35 years’ experience working for the NHS and in private practice. Having trained at University College Hospital and King’s College Hospital, he worked for many years at Springfield Hospital and St George’s Hospital in South London. He received his training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy was with the British Association of Psychotherapists.

Dr Stevens has previously sat on three HMCTS Tribunals Mental Health Tribunal and the Gender Recognition Panel. He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the NHS Gender Identity Clinic, formerly based at Charing Cross Hospital in West London.

In this webinar, Dr John Stevens will take you through his experience of working in a gender identity clinic, the closure of the Tavistock clinic in 2022 following an independent review, and the challenges that lie ahead in this field. The session will be interactive so they'll be opportunities to ask questions.
