*UPDATE: We'll be joined by two wonderful SutureUK assessors during this session so please come along if you would like individualised feedback on your skills and more sign offs for the SutureUK competency certificate!*
There are special techniques surgeons use when tying knots after finishing a stitch. Tying at depth is used when forming a knot within the depths of a body cavity. Surgeon’s knot is used to increase the friction and hence reduce the chance of it slipping when forming the next throw.
Session outline:
- Brief presentation about the sutures and knots, their uses, and equipment needed.
- Live demonstration
- Practise and feedback
