Description

The simple interrupted and continuous sutures and instrument ties are the most versatile sutures and a sensible choice for wound closure in almost all circumstances. We can use these suture types to close wounds in many areas of the body such as the chest, back or abdomen.

In this session, we aim to familiarize members of all skill levels with the suture equipment, the suture skills and the process of getting signed off for certification.

Session outline:

  • Brief presentation about the sutures and knots, their uses, and equipment needed.
  • Live demonstration
  • Practise and feedback
