Katy is a sepsis survivor and a multiple amputee.

In September 2018, she became ill with what she thought was "just the flu" but was admitted to the hospital two days later with a life-threatening septic shock.

Katy is passionate about sharing her experiences and spreading sepsis education in the hopes of preventing others from suffering sepsis.

Focus of the talk:

1. Katy Grainger's personal experiences as a sepsis amputee.
2. Sepsis prevention, treatment, and post-sepsis issues.
3. Discussion on how future healthcare professionals could best support sepsis survivors.
