Learning objectives
1. Demonstrate the main features of the external genitalia, the anatomy of the superficial perineal pouch and the nature of the perineal membrane.
2. Explore the boundaries and contents of the ischioanal fossa and identify the contents of the pudendal canal, including the branches of the pudendal vessels and nerves.
3. Identify the location of the perineal body and related structures including the urogenital triangle.
4. In the male:
- Demonstrate the structures in the spermatic cord and relate the covering layers of the abdominal wall.
- Describe the structure of the testes and ductus deferens.
- Be familiar with course of the testicular artery and ductus deferens.
- Describe the structure and relations of the prostate gland.
- Demonstrate the structure of the penis.
5. In the female:
- Demonstrate the structures in the labia majora.
