Join us for an informative teaching session on respiratory anatomy! Relevant for all levels though based on first-year learning objectives, this session promises a comprehensive overview that would be highly useful for medical professionals. To understand the basic structure and function of the respiratory system: By the end of the session, participants should be able to accurately describe the various parts of the respiratory system relating to both the upper and lower airways and their specific roles in the process of respiration.
To identify the various anatomical landmarks of the respiratory system: Participants should be able to identify and locate key anatomical landmarks of the respiratory system including but not limited to the nasal cavity, trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
To comprehend the physiological mechanisms behind respiration: Participants should gain a clear understanding of the processes of ventilation, gas exchange, and perfusion.
To understand the impact of diseases on the respiratory system's anatomy: Participants should be able to explain how common pulmonary diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and lung cancer can alter the anatomy of the respiratory system.
To familiarise with medical imaging of the respiratory system: By the end of the session, participants should be able to identify basic structures and abnormalities in medical imaging such as chest X-rays and CT scans pertaining to the respiratory system.
