Learning objectives
1. By the end of this teaching series, learners should be capable of properly prescribing fluids and VTE prophylaxis in a surgical ward setting, demonstrating an understanding of the appropriate situations and dosages for these prescriptions.
2. Learners should be able to identify and effectively manage surgical emergencies that require specific prescribing actions, applying their knowledge to practical, real-life situations.
3. Participants should develop a thorough understanding on how to manage prescriptions in speciality specific scenarios including ENT, urology, T&O, colorectal, paediatrics ad general surgery, proving their preparedness for handling diverse cases in any surgical job or rotation.
4. The teaching session aims to educate the learners to correctly answer surgery-specific questions in the Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA).
5. By the end of the series, learners are expected to understand the nuances and complexities of prescribing medications in a surgical environment and should feel confident in their ability to make informed decisions regarding patient prescriptions.
