Aims
Provide an overview of the common questions relating to plastic surgery encountered in the MRCS Part A.
We aim to cover high yield concepts in plastic surgery and its clinical relevance, including burns classification and management, and the reconstructive ladder.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Have a good understanding of the relevant basic scientific principles of wound management and principles of skin cover (reconstructive ladder, skin grafts and flaps)
- Understand the assessment and initial management of patients with burn trauma.
Panellists
Our panellists include:
- Dr Sanah Ali - MRCS, BMBCh, BA (Oxon), Core Trainee (CT2), South-East Scotland. Sanah is currently undertaking a post in Plastic Surgery at St John’s Hospital. She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2021, and then carried out her Foundation Training at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. She then took up a Plastics-themed core training job in Edinburgh, starting with 6 months of ENT, followed by a year with the Plastics department, where she currently works. Sanah intends on pursuing a career in Plastics surgery, and has a particular interest in burns. In her spare time, Sanah is a keen runner and cyclist, and can be found exploring various peaks or beaches around Scotland.
