1. To understand and differentiate between the common diseases and conditions that affect children and the unique paediatric presentations of common adult diseases. 2. To review and apply the necessary steps in paediatric patient assessment including history taking, physical examination and early identification of critical illness in children. 3. To familiarize with the growth and developmental milestones of children from infancy to late adolescence and understand how deviations from these milestones can indicate potential health issues. 4. To demonstrate ability in handling paediatric emergencies, understanding the importance of early intervention and utilising appropriate drug doses based on the patient’s weight. 5. To enhance skills concerning the communication with children at different developmental stages and their parents, aiming at ensuring all relevant health information is conveyed effectively and empathetically.
