Summary

Wheeze, a common symptom in pediatric populations, can be indicative of a myriad of underlying conditions, ranging from transient early wheezing to childhood asthma. Given its high prevalence and varied etiologies, it's paramount for clinicians to approach it with precision and nuance. This needs assessment aims to underscore and address the clinical practice gaps related to wheeze in children.

Learning objectives

Learning objectives for the teaching session on wheeze in children: Clinical Differentiation: By the end of this session, participants will be able to distinguish between different causes of pediatric wheezing through patient history, physical examination, and initial diagnostic findings. Diagnostic Mastery: Attendees will enhance their ability to select and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests for wheeze in children, taking into account the age of the patient and the clinical context. Treatment Protocols: Participants will develop the competence to formulate evidence-based management plans for children presenting with wheeze, adjusting interventions based on severity and etiology.
