This webinars will provide an insight into the principles of congenital cardiac surgery covering the fetal circulation, neonatal physiology, duct-dependency, shunts and shunt calculations, and basic cardiac morphology.

Aims

To provide learners with a working understanding of the basic principles underpinning congenital cardiac surgery.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, attendees should have an understanding of:

  • Neonatal physiology,
  • Duct-dependency,
  • Shunts and shunt calculations,
  • And basic cardiac morphology such that they feel confident to tackle questions in the written component of the Intercollegiate Exam in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
