Description

Delivered, by one of out 5th year medical students' - Khumo Karas, this lecture on Venepuncture and Cannulation will provide you with some handy tips and tricks that will enhance your skills on the wards, and your performance in the OSCEs!

Join the tutorial on Tuesday 29th October, 6pm - to gain a step-by-step run through of how to perform cannulation and venepuncture in a way that allows you to practice without the equipment and learn how to ace the communication before and after these clinical skills stations.

If you want to feel more confident with clinical skills and to find out the best way to practice the OSCE skills stations, come along - and Khumo will answer any worries you have about the exam!

Learning objectives

  2. Learn how to effectively communicate with patients before, during, and after performing venepuncture and cannulation in a clinical setting.
  3. Gain insight into useful tips and practical tricks for improving venepuncture and cannulation skills on the wards.
  4. Feel confident in conducting venepuncture and cannulation under examination conditions, addressing any concerns or anxieties about the OSCEs.
  5. Develop an understanding of how to independently practice and further improve these clinical skills without the use of actual equipment.
