Imperial MedEd is excited to kick off this year’s OSCE Teaching Series - with Om Goswamy, one of our 5th year medical students, taking us through all aspects of the Gastrointestinal History and Abdominal Exam! Join us on Tuesday 22nd October, 6pm to learn how to take a thorough Gastro history and stand out, learn how to take a well structured and comprehensive Gastro exam and some super useful OSCE exam tips and tricks to help you on the day!

Learning objectives

1. Understand the methodology and importance of obtaining a thorough gastro history. 2. Learn strategies for effective communication and questioning techniques with patients during gastro history taking. 3. Gain knowledge on systematic approach towards Abdominal Examination (Abdo Exam). 4. Develop an understanding of how to interpret findings from the Abdo Exam, including the identification of common pathologies. 5. Sharpen decision making skills on choosing appropriate diagnostic tests and formulating a differential diagnosis based on the obtained gastro history and Abdo Exam findings.
