Summary

Join us for the second session of our educational series, focusing on Orthopaedic Emergencies. Led by Mr. Alex Hinton, ST3 East of England Rotation, this session will provide valuable insights into the identification and management of open fractures and compartment syndrome.

Learning objectives

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of common orthopaedic emergencies. 2. Learn to identify key clinical signs and symptoms associated with orthopaedic emergencies and apply this knowledge in a practical setting. 3. Understand how to effectively conduct a physical examination for a patient presenting with an orthopaedic emergency. 4. Gain skills in interpreting and understanding imaging results related to orthopedic emergencies such as fractures, dislocations, and other traumatic injuries. 5. Improve decision-making skills regarding when to refer patients to specialized care or when immediate, onsite intervention is required. Provide the appropriate intervention or referral as necessary.
