Summary
We welcome you to our organising a medical elective event.
We have medical students from across the UK sharing about their medical electives in different breakout sessions by elective location (eg Australia + NZ) and by specialty (eg Paediatrics). "The electives network," "work the world," "Uganda Lodge" and "Unique Expeditions" will be sharing about their elective opportunities. Students will also be able to share funding opportunities, general advice and resources with you throughout the day. Dr Poorna Gunasekera (Associate Dean of Plymouth Medical School, Founder of MegaReach and Co-chair of Global Health Collaborative) will be sharing at the elective event on the relevance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Global Health and on your elective. Dr Natalie Prevatt - Travel Medicine and Paediatric Infectious Diseases Doctor will be sharing about what to pack, vaccines and staying safe on elective.
The guidebook will have articles written by medical students who have just completed their medical elective as well as highlighting funding opportunities and agencies.
£1 from every ticket sold will be donated to Medicines Sans Frontieres (MSF), allowing you to give back as you learn.
