Description

St George's Surgical Society is pleased to announce its Obstetrics and gynaecology-focused teaching series aimed at all medical students.

This event will cover: OBSTETRIC EMERGENCIES

Having scored 100% in her Obstetrics and Gynaecology OSCE station, this is the perfect opportunity to also ask the speaker, a 5th-year medical student for some tips and tricks on how to ace the 4th-year/ P-year exams! To receive a certificate of attendance, one would need to attend 4/5 of the teaching sessions and fill in both the pre-feedback and post-feedback forms!

Learning objectives

  1. To understand and identify common and uncommon obstetric emergencies, their symptoms and the immediate actions required.
  2. To gain knowledge on the most current and effective methods of intervention in obstetric emergencies, including pharmacological and surgical treatment options.
  3. To delve into case studies to improve diagnostic skills and decision-making abilities in high-pressure, emergency situations.
  4. To learn about the importance and application of patient-centred care during obstetric emergencies to ensure the safety of both mother and child.
  5. To enhance communication skills for effectively explaining complicated medical situations to patients and their families, and for coordinating within the medical team during emergency situations.
