Summary

Miscarriage, also known as spontaneous abortion, is the natural death of an embryo or fetus before it can sustain independent life, usually before the 20th week of gestation. Despite being a common occurrence, affecting approximately 10-20% of clinically recognized pregnancies, there remain significant clinical practice gaps in its management, understanding, and patient counseling.
