This is a Face to Face event, this bespoke NHS Health Check Training is a great opportunity to update your knowledge nationally and locally, whilst networking with colleagues from across Richmond and Wandsworth. This course will provide the learner with updated knowledge and understanding to support them in carrying out an NHS Health Check assessment and to inform the client of the significance of their results and their risk, providing brief advice if required.

It provides underpinning knowledge for the core competences and technical competences described in the NHS Health Check competence framework produced by Public Health England.

Learning Outcomes

A fast-paced session with an update of the whole programme and the opportunity to troubleshoot issues and vote on the three topics they would like included in their training. Topics include Audit C, AF, BP, Chol, CKD, CVD Risk, Dementia, GPPAQ, and familial hypercholesterolemia. Attendees value and enjoy this style of interactivity for their learning.

Learning objectives

1. Understand the purpose and significance of NHS Health Checks in the context of personalized preventative healthcare and be able to articulate this to patients. 2. Identify and explain the key parameters involved in the NHS Health Check including Audit C, AF, BP, Chol, CKD, CVD Risk, Dementia, GPPAQ, and familial hypercholesterolemia. 3. Conduct an NHS Health Check, collecting and analyzing the necessary data with accuracy and confidence, while adhering to the NHS Health Check competence framework. 4. Interpret the results of an NHS Health Check, understand how to communicate the significance of these results to the patient, and provide relevant advice based on the findings. 5. Recognize the complexities involved in conducting an NHS Health Check, particularly navigating issues related to GPPAQ and Audit C, and apply strategies for addressing these within a patient consultation.
