A Career in Clinical Academia, Professor Trish Greenhalgh
Professor Trish Greenhalgh is an internationally recognised academic in Public Health and Primary Care as well as a fellow of Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford. She leads a programme of research through her role as co-director of the Interdisciplinary Research In Health Sciences (IRIHS) unit, working at the interface between the social sciences and medicine. Her work has a strong emphasis on the organisation and delivery of health services across both primary and secondary care.
Getting Involved with Quality Improvement, Dr Shobhan Thakore
Dr Shobhan Thakore is an Emergency Medicine Consultant and Associate Medical Director for Quality Management in NHS Tayside. His interest lies in quality improvement of clinical outcomes as well as patient and staff experiences in healthcare through a ‘Realistic Medicine’ approach to complex clinical situations. He completed the Scottish Quality and Safety Fellowship Programme for which he is now the Professional Lead.
Getting Involved with Medical Education, Mr Robert Barry
Mr Robert Barry is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Senior Lecturer in Ophthalmology. He is heavily involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education through his roles as Academic Lead for Year 4 of MBChB (University of Birmingham), Lead for Inter-Professional Education for MBChB (University of Birmingham), Academic Foundation Programme Lead for the West Midlands Central region and Training the Trainers Lead for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Ophthalmic Practitioner Training Programme.
Getting Involved with Research, Professor Siobhan Quenby
Professor Siobhan Quenby is a Consultant Obstetrician as well as Professor of Obstetrics and Director of the Biomedical Research Unit in Reproductive Health at the University of Warwick. She holds the title of Deputy Director at Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research and is involved as a Chief Investigator on several large scale clinical trials. Her work focuses on translational research into recurrent miscarriage and she has published over 75 original articles and numerous book chapters on the subject, gaining international recognition and media interest.
