JOIN US for a fantastic talk from Dr Guang Yim who will talk about the Military approach to Plastic surgery and trauma!
Dr Guang Yim is an British Army Surgeon specialising in Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery. He is currently conducting a Post-CCT fellowship in Major Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Microsurgery in Swansea.
After securing a Royal Army Medical Corps Cadetship, Dr Yim's military career started in 2002; beginning his foundation programme in Swansea. His time as a pre-speciality Army Doctor was primarily spent with 16-Medical Regiment as a General Duties Medical Officer (GDMO). During this time he deployed to multiple exercises undertaking Pre-Hospital treatment of casualties across a variety of environments.
Dr Yim then conducted his Core Surgical Training at The Royal Centre for Defence Medicine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. During this time Dr Yim undertook the role of Honorary Burns and Plastics Registrar where he cared for the spectrum of burn patients from ventilated ITU burns through to simple small area burns attending as outpatients. Since then, Dr Yim has undertaken Burns and Plastic Registrar roles in Bristol and Plymouth.
