Description

This webinar will consist of a panel of two liver surgeons, a colorectal surgeon and an oncologist. Through case-based discussions, we will explore how best to assess colorectal cancer patients with liver metastasis and manage them with a curative intent, including surgical resection, non-surgical options and liver transplantation.

Panellists

Our panellists include:

Mr Robert Jones - Robert is a Liver Surgeon and Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool. An NIHR funded researcher, he is the Royal College of Surgeons & Bowel Cancer UK metastatic colorectal cancer research lead for the United Kingdom. He is the UK Chief Investigator for BNT-122, the UK’s first personalised mRNA cancer vaccine study looking at adjuvant vaccine treatment in resected colorectal cancer. He has designed and delivered numerous phase 2 & 3 studies, incorporating novel trial designs and approaches to ensure rapid recruitment and leverage the inherent advantages the networked UK healthcare system provides. He is the NIHR UK Research co-lead for the Cancer Vaccine Innovation Pathway.

Mr Stephen Fenwick - Stephen is a Consultant Hepatobiliary and General Surgeon based at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. He is currently the Clinical Lead of the Liverpool Hepatobiliary Unit. Stephen has a specialist interest in the management of colorectal cancer with liver metastasis and has introduced the Advanced Colorectal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team Meeting to his unit.

Mr Ian Jenkins - Ian is a Consultant Surgeon in St. Mark’s Hospital. He is a high volume laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon with interests in complex and recurrent colorectal cancer. He is the Clinical Lead for Colorectal Cancer in St. Mar’s and Northwick Park Hospitals.

Dr Kalena Marti - Kalena is a consultant medical oncologist at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust with a specialist interest in colorectal (especially early onset colorectal cancer) and small bowel malignancies.

Ms Stephanie Au - Stephanie is a ST7 trainee in General Surgery with a subspecialty interest in Colorectal surgery. She is the trainee representative in the Surgical Subspecialty Board (General Surgery) of RCSEd and a member of the organising committee of the RCSEd-ACPGBI webinar series. She is currently based in Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
