Sikh Medical Students Network present our third talk in the 'Life as a Doctor' series - *Sikhs in Orthopaedics - from training to consultancy*

Prof Ahluwalia is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery. His practice focuses on all facets of foot and ankle care and is based on major trauma, elective/sports foot

and ankle medicine and diabetic foot practice.

Having undertaken advanced fellowships in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery and ankle arthroplasty at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford and specializing in limb reconstruction and diabetic foot practice at the Wirral, Liverpool, he was awarded BOFAS and AO Trauma Travelling Fellowships to complete his training.

Prof Ahluwalia undertook the Diploma of Sports and Exercise Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He incorporates these skills into his care for patients and advocates the use of

Patient Related Outcome Measures in toot and ankle surgery.

Prof Ahluwalia is one of the consultants at the internationally recognised Kings Diabetic Foot Unit and is an Executive Committee Member of the Diabetic Foot Study Group and a member of the International Diabetic Foot Care Group.
