The Jordanian Doctors in the UK (JDUK) association is excited to announce its second International Conference, taking place on August 25th and 26th, 2024. This event aims to provide updated medical knowledge and address current medical challenges locally and globally. The first day of the conference will be dedicated to learning from experienced doctors who have provided medical care in war and conflict zones, with a focus on the recent war in Gaza. The destruction of Gaza's medical infrastructure has created a severe humanitarian crisis, making it challenging to deliver quality healthcare. Esteemed colleagues will share their insights and strategies for managing healthcare under such dire circumstances.

On the second day, the conference will shift its focus to the experiences of female doctors in various medical fields. These sessions will explore the unique challenges faced by female doctors, from transitioning to the UK and applying for training positions to finding a balance between work and family life. By sharing their personal journeys and professional insights, these doctors aim to guide and inspire future female medical professionals in navigating and planning their careers effectively.

Following the session on female doctors, the International Surgical Training Program (ISTP) leads from the Royal College of England will host a session. Previous candidates from Jordan will share their experiences with the ISTP, providing valuable tips on the application process and what to expect during the training. This segment aims to equip aspiring surgeons with the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue and succeed in the ISTP.

In the afternoon, the conference will feature selected abstract presentations and discussions. This session will highlight new research findings and innovations in the medical field, providing a platform for researchers to present their work and engage with the audience. The interactive discussions that follow will allow for constructive feedback and further exploration of the presented topics, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange.
