This is the first of a series on Anaesthesiology over a couple of weeks.

This Teaching Programme will be taught by Dr John Afam, Senior Registrar in Anaesthesia.

This first session will offer an introduction to Anaesthesiology, giving an overview of the specialty and its practice over the years.

Understand the field of anesthesiology, including its introduction and significance.
Examine the historical development of anesthesiology as a medical discipline.
Define the role of an anesthesiologist, including their duties and essential qualities.
Explore the evolution of anesthesia techniques and practices throughout history.
