Learning objectives

  1. To understand the basic principles and mechanisms of immunosuppression in solid organ transplantation, including the role of different immunosuppressive agents.
  2. To explore the complex relationship between the immune system and the transplanted organ, and how targeted immunosuppression can aid in prolonging graft survival and preventing organ rejection.
  3. To learn how to optimally manage patients who have undergone organ transplantation through tailored immunosuppressive therapy, taking into account the individual patient's risk factors and comorbidities.
  4. To gain knowledge on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the most commonly used immunosuppressive agents, as well as potential side effects and drug interactions.
  5. To develop practical skills related to the prescribing of immunosuppressive drugs, with special attention to dose adjustments, monitoring and managing complications, using case-based discussions.
