Summary
We are proud to present Dr Udvitha Nandasoma, Head of advisory services, (MDU) (BA MBBChir MRCP (UK) LLB(Hons)(Open) PhD MFFLM) at our latest collaboration event between Mind the Bleep IMG and MDU. The session is primarily aimed at IMGs who are unfamiliar with the legal landscape and how indemnity works in the UK.
Dr Nandasoma joined the MDU as a medico-legal adviser in 2008 after completing specialist training in gastroenterology. He became head of advisory in 2022 and until earlier this year was a practising hepatologist.
Topics covered during the session include:
- Introduction to Indemnity.
- What the MDU provides & details regarding membership.
- Why IMGs should ensure they have indemnity.
- Practical medico-legal challenges IMGs new to the NHS frequently face (and/or contact MDU about).
