This will include to talk about common imaging investigations, requesting and prioritising urgent scans, recognise emergency cases and interpretation.

Learning objectives

1. By the end of this session, participants should be able to comprehensively understand the role of various imaging investigations in preoperative and postoperative care. 2. Participants should be able to identify the most appropriate imaging investigation required for specific surgical cases and differentiate between the utilities of each imaging modality. 3. Students will learn how to prioritize urgent scans, and understand the importance of fast-track imaging in emergency surgical cases. 4. The session intends to build proficiency in interpreting and understanding imaging reports, focusing on radiographics often seen in common surgical cases. 5. Finally, participants should be able to correlate theoretical knowledge with practical applications, especially in the paradigm of surgical emergencies; effectively using imaging to diagnose, plan, and manage emergency surgical cases.
