Aim:

The aim of the webinar is to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in writing a research paper, specifically in the field of surgery.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the key elements of a successful surgical research paper, including the introduction, methods, results, and discussion sections.
  • Learn to write a compelling abstract that summarizes the main findings of a surgical research paper.
  • Review common pitfalls and mistakes in surgical research paper writing and learn to avoid them.

Summary

The Departments of Surgery and Medical Education of Kingston Hospital will be hosting a special educational event featuring an esteemed guest speaker. Stavros Antoniou, MD, MPH, PhD, FEBS. He will be presenting a webinar on "How to...Write a Surgical Research Paper" on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:00 PM. Mr. Antoniou is a Consultant General Surgeon at Papageorgiou General Hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece, and an Evidence Synthesis Expert and Certified Guideline Methodologist. He serves as the Editor of Surgical Endoscopy and the Chair of the Guidelines Committee of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES). The webinar will be delivered online through MedAll. Interested participants can click the link provided or scan the QR code in the picture to join the event. Registrations are required to receive the certificate of attendance. This is an excellent learning opportunity for anyone interested in surgical research paper writing, and everyone in Kingston Hospital is warmly welcome to attend.
