PRASSA UK would like to welcome you to the final talk of the PRASSA UK Webinar Teaching Programme. For this, we are humbled to be joined by Mr Winterton as he imparts his wisdom, and provides us with an exciting overview of, Hand surgery.
Speaker Profile
Mr Winterton is a consultant plastic surgeon based in the North West (Manchester and Rochdale). He has more than 15 years of experience and has worked internationally.
Mr Winterton graduated from Newcastle University and completed his higher surgical training, as a plastic surgery registrar, in Leeds/Manchester. During this time Mr Winterton conducted an MPhil research degree in Peripheral Nerve Injury with the University of Manchester.
Upon completion of his plastic surgery training, Mr Winterton returned to Leeds to develop his interest in paediatric and microsurgical upper limb surgery, which culminated in him being part of the surgical team which performed the first hand transplant in the UK in 2012.
In 2013 Mr Winterton spent a year working in Adelaide, Australia, and has since been working as Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive & Hand Surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.
Mr Winterton has presented his work nationally and internationally, with a solid repertoire of book chapters and peer-reviewed articles to his name.
Mr Winterton is also a BAPRAS council member for the North West region.
