Description

Miss Roopa Nair is the Clinical Director for Women’s Health services at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. She is a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Robotic surgeon and has been working at BHRUT as a Consultant since 2011. She obtained her basic medical degree in Mumbai, India and trained there in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 5 years before moving to the UK in 2003. She trained in the North East Thames London Deanery and has worked at Colchester, Homerton, Chase Farm and Queen’s hospitals. She was awarded the MRCOG Gold Medal in 2004 by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has completed a Masters in Minimally Invasive surgery with Distinction in 2015 from Anglia Ruskin University.

She is a a member of various professional societies including BIARGS and SERGS, and is a a member of the Governance committee of the British Society of Urogynaecology. She is also a specialist advisor for the CQC, RCOG examiner and member of the RCOG CESR committee, and the ATSM Preceptor for Urogynaecology for Northeast and North Central London.

She leads the Regional London Urogynaecology Task and Finish Group.
