To develop a comprehensive understanding of the surgical management of patients with both common and complex surgical problems such as indigestion, abdominal pain, hernias, heartburn, gallstones, and cancer of the oesophagus and stomach. 4. To comprehend the role of a surgeon in the provision of Gastro-Oesophageal Cancer Surgery and Bariatric Surgery services within the NHS setting, specifically in the regions of East & Northeast London. 5. To understand the importance of surgical skills simulation in higher education, informed by Prof Patel's experience as a world leader in this field, thus making participants aware of the need for continual learning and skill upgrade in a surgical career.
