At the end of the session, participants should be able to understand the pathophysiology behind common gastrointestinal diseases and how these affect the overall function of the gastrointestinal system. 2. Participants will be able to identify the appropriate surgical techniques used in gastro and GI surgeries, including potential risks, benefits, and aftercare procedures. 3. By the end of the session, participants should be able to effectively diagnose various gastrointestinal disorders, using appropriate diagnostic tools and tests, and tailor an efficient treatment plan. 4. Participants will learn to analyze complex patient cases and make informed decisions about the necessity and type of surgical intervention based on individual patient characteristics and needs. 5. Participants will have increased confidence in counseling patients about gastro and GI surgeries, including discussing the potential risks and benefits, helping patients make informed decisions about their health and health care.
