Join us for an evening of discussion around innovations in global health, network with global health professionals, and find out how to get involved! Refreshments will be provided for those joining us in person. This is a free event.

18.20-18.30: Introduction
18.30- 19.00: Global Surgery Innovation.
Mr Will Bolton who is a Neurosurgery Academic Clinical Fellow at Leeds. His PhD developed novel evaluation methods for frugal innovation in low and middle income countries. He now runs a programme of research investigating how immersive technologies can improve recovery after surgery or injury in the UK and internationally. He is IDEAL Global Lead, helping surgical researchers across the world develop and evaluate surgical technology.
19.00-19.30: Widening access to minimal access surgery in Uganda.
Dr John Dalton is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
19.30-20.00: Innovating Automated Progress Tracking System (APTS) for Laparoscopic Simulation Training in Low-Middle Income Countries: Low-Cost High-Fidelity Performance Assessment System with Microcontroller Connectivity.
Mr Bishow Karki is a Speciality Registrar in General Surgery at the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. He is a Surgical Simulation Fellow at the Hull Institute of Learning & Simulation and an Honorary Lecturer at the Institute of Engineering , Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu Nepal.
