Next up is a webinar on how to approach your first medical on-call, with tips on on responding to common scenarios, managing your time, and prioritising tasks! We'll walk you through some of the most frequent bleeps medical FY1s receive, and what is expected from you as a new doctor on the job.

This will also be a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the transition from student to doctor and what to expect!

Learning objectives

1. By the end of the session, participants will understand the common challenges they may encounter during their first medical on-call and how to prepare for them. 2. Participants will learn to effectively respond to various scenarios they're likely to encounter during on-calls, including frequent bleeps from medical FY1s, and understand the expected response. 3. Participants will gain skills in time management and task prioritisation during medical on-call situations, aiming to increase efficiency and reduce stress. 4. Participants will be able to identify the differences in responsibilities and expectations transitioning from medical student to doctor, particularly during on-call scenarios. 5. Participants will have the chance to partake in interactive Q&A, enabling clarification on any aspects of the transition to doctor, or specifically to on-call work they might be unsure about.
