Summary

This on-demand module are the combined 2nd and 3rd modules in the GASOC Frugal Innovation Skills Course. Module 2 will help medical professionals to understand the existing unmet global surgical needs and their implications. Participants will identify and analyze challenges faced by LMIC surgeons and patients, and use market research and appraisal of existing solutions to learn about creative and frugal solutions to global healthcare disparities.

Module 3 will introduce the concepts of technology design for low resource settings and help participants understand how to develop sustainable technologies that are appropriate for their context. Additionally we will cover how to collaborate across boundaries and the principles of technology transfer in global health.
